Tours
Our trips to Scotland are a relatively new venture. Covid restrictions forced us to look closer to home for new riding tours. We were pleasantly surprised and amazed at what we found. We were lucky with the weather on most occasions but have also had to deal with rain and mist when we adjusted our plans accordingly. That said Scotland never ceases to deliver in terms of breathtaking scenery, great roads, good food, and lovely people.
Scotland provides a different riding experience, it is not flat out, full throttle, but more sedate technical, with twists and turns on some single track roads. There are of course some sections where you can enjoy the long straights and sweeping bends and lift the speed and just enjoy the road ahead.
There are many different aspects when riding in Scotland, however, overall the experience leaves you with a sense of awe and some great memories.
Our twice yearly trips to France were temporarly paused in 2020 due to the pandemic. However we revisited France in May 2022 and it still delivers on the great rides it always did.
France is a large country, generally with very well-maintained roads, and many French drivers are very courteous to motorcyclists, which makes riding an absolute pleasure. We take a mixture of smaller country roads and larger roads to get to our destination hotel, which gives everyone the opportunity go as fast or as slow as they wish. We use a riding system that ensures that no one gets lost and the group stays together. Once we have reached the hotel we generally stay there for three or four days and ride out each day on different routes to a variety of destinations using a number of different roads passing through small French villages and larger towns. We also have a couple of more challenging routes which provide some great talking points in the evening reviews.
France is a wonderful country with a long history and unique culture. The deep-rooted traditions and customs in France define French people’s love for their culture and country.
Other destinations
We are always looking for new destinations to plan rides and tours, both in the UK & Europe. One of the symptoms of Covid was, many of us re-discovered what the British Isles has to offer, Wales, Ireland, Scotland & England all have unique places to visit and particular roads to ride. But of course there is always the vastness of Europe to keep our wheels turning.
